End of Year

Players & Parents,

What a great effort today.  It's not often a team is upset after a loss, but our kids were today.  As we told the kids in the locker room, we left everything on the ice today and should keep our heads up high.  We worked hard to create a lot of chances to extend that 2-0 and 3-0 lead but just couldn't find the back of the net.  As coaches we were very proud of the effort.

Below, are a few items to end the year.  When I coached HS our team grew some great mullets and hockey flow so I would share the Minnesota HS Hockey Team video every year.  If you're not familiar with this annual broadcast, enjoy!  You might see some similarities to our team effort to create some playoff, "hockey hair."

Also, I included our schedule with results.  I firmly believe the year is more than just wins and losses but it is always nice to look back at season and reflect.  It's been an enjoyable year coaching this group of players.  I hope they feel the coaches supported and pushed them for our 22 weeks together.

To close out the season We would like to skate one more time as a team for a fun "summit series."  We will skate from 4:30-5:30 PM in the 1932 Rink on Tuesday.  After the skate we would like to have some pizza, salad and cake to end out the year.  We will have this gathering at the Olympic Center in a location to be determined.  Parents are welcome!  We would ask that each family provide $10 a player and $5 for any additional adults.  That should cover the costs.

Also, we will collect jerseys so PLEASE BRING ALL GAME JERSEYS TUESDAY.

International & Sectionals Update

Players/Parents,

For planning purposes, below is our schedule for the International Tournament.  If we make the championship it will be on Sunday:

Th-Sun2/22-2/25TBALake PlacidInt'l Tourney "A"
ThursdayFeb 223:20 PM1932Bethlehem
FridayFeb 2310:20 PMUSAWest Hartford
Friday Feb 237:10 PM1932Pioneer Valley
Saturday Feb 24TBATBATBA

We finished 3-3 in our Q games.  That qualifies us for Sectionals.  Sectionals will be held in Chazy and 6 teams will be involved.  I am assuming it will include one game on Friday and two games on both Saturday and Sunday.  Two teams will advance from our Sectionals to states in Buffalo.
